Kitchens

New Properties

As newly built properties in Spain often don't come with a kitchen installed, we get many requests to help clients. Many have bought holiday homes, investments for rental, or to sell on. Granada Property Reform can organise the design, supply and installation of your kitchen, even if you're not here in person.

An average sized kitchen, comprising 10 units, laminate worktops, oven, hob, hood, fridge-freezer, sink, taps and installation, begins at around €3,500 (approximately £3,000), including installation.

Old Properties

Older properties can often require more preparation work prior to installation of furniture. It's not uncommon that the plumbing to the room needs replacing completely and some electrical updating needs to be done, prior to fitting a kitchen.

Granada Property Reform can take care of all aspects of the preparation work and can quote fully for all the work you require.

Made to Measure

All of the kitchens we supply are made to measure, which means we can ensure they will fit in even the most unusually shaped rooms. This also enables us to offer a much wider range of design possibilities to suit each individual  room.

We can also arrange for completely bespoke and hand-crafted designs for an even more unique finish.

The deals we have in place with our suppliers also ensure that we can always remain competitive. We're confident that we'll always offer the most competitive estimates on a like for like basis, given the quality of the products we supply.

Bathrooms

We are happy to undertake work with bathrooms, be it full transformations or just supplying accessories, which aren't provided in most new properties. It's not uncommon for new properties not to have mirrors, or shower screens fitted around a shower base. Often with bath-showers, a screen also needs to be fitted.

We're likewise happy to undertake complete room transformations, including all the plumbing, electrics, tiling - everything you need and want to be done.

About The Designer - Heath Chesters

I have designed, supplied and installed kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms for some 15 years now.

Following a spell in the Royal Air Force (in catering), I embarked upon a career in interior design, specialising initially with kitchens. After a few years and with great interest, I began working with the design of bathrooms and bedrooms.

Having worked successfully with a couple of independant retailers, I took the opportunity to establish my own business, setting up a successful showroom.

Not satisfied with just designing for clients, I soon became more "hands-on", working on the installation side of things with the aid of some superb kitchen fitters. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the best, including fitters who also worked with prestige companies such as Christians and Smallbones.

After several years, I sold the business and moved to Cornwall, where I worked for a spell with Magnet, then as an independent kitchen, bedroom and bathroom installer, contracting to several independant retailers.

Over four years ago I moved to Spain and continued my work, this time serving mostly fellow expat clients. Granada Property Reform was soon established as I branched out into full and partial property reform work, by the request of my clients, who were looking for a reliable person who could manage their projects and of course, speak the language. I now also consult and work with local Spanish companies.

I have full confidence in my ability to provide the best service you will find in this part of Spain. I've worked hard to establish the excellent network of suppliers and relationships with local business', with the aim of providing the best products for the most affordable prices.

I can provide full references from our previous clients, you don't have to take my word for it, as all our clients have been delighted with our advice and workmanship. Our reputation is something I'm very proud of.

I always want to make sure that you, the clients, are totally happy with everything we do for you. All of our previous clients will confirm that often we go "above and beyond".

My feelings however, have always been "Whether it's a €2,000 kitchen or a €20,000 kitchen, it's a lot of money to the person having the work done. So let's make sure everything is spot on!"

Kitchen Fitter & Designer in Granada & Jaen

Looking for an experienced kitchen fitter & designer in Granada or Jaen, but don't know where to start?

We can cater for all tastes and styles required, with packages available to suit any budget. Sound working knowledge of the kitchen industry in the UK, Spain and throughout Europe affords us the expertise to design, supply and install all manner of furniture and equipment - from simple flat-pack cabinetry through to bespoke and hand-made designs.

We can also take care of any additional work needed such as plumbing, tiling, rendering and finishing.

We're also happy to take you "shopping", if required, to our various suppliers. This enables you to see products, rather than just relying on brochure pictures. Once you've made you're selections, we'll arrange everything, including delivery.

Once we have confirmed delivery dates, we'll then arrange the earliest mutually convenient date to proceed with installation.

Appliances

We tend to use recognised quality appliance brands such as BOSCH or SIEMENS, as they can often be as much as a third of the price here in Spain, compared to the UK. We can though, supply any make or model of appliance if you have a particular preference. We'll also shop around to ensure you get the best deals.

Work Surfaces

30mm or 40mm thick laminate worktops, which are around €50 to €75 per 3m length, come in a variety of colours and patterns. Most often, the two main options are either a matte or gloss finish.

Granite and marble worktops are a superb and stylish option, as are SileStone and other solid-surface options. Prices to supply and fit stone work surfaces are a fraction of UK prices. For example - a solid black granite worktop costs around €150 per metre. This makes having your dream worktop far more economical and possible than back in the UK.

Installation is usually much cheaper here in Spain and we enjoy great relationships and prices with several stonemasons.

Solid timber worktops are beginning to become more available in Spain these days, though we always advise care and caution. It's always important to choose a wood that's more durable and easy to maintain. The environment in which the installation is taking place, should also be taken into account.

We use a specialist timber fabricator to, who will make wooden work surfaces to size and order. This ensures the best quality. Unfortunately, some of the "off the shelf" timber worktops available, simply aren't up to standard in our opinion. Prices for a good hardwood work surface, start at around €150 per metre, including installation.

Stainless steel work surfaces provide an ultra-modern and supremely hygienic option. These work surfaces are the same as used in commercial kitchens and made to order.

Our Most Recent Kitchen Installation

Monachil, Granada
Installation in a new property.

Our client required something modern and colourful, though was unsure at first what to go for. There's such a broad selection of colours possible, it can sometimes be difficult to pick.

Following a visit to out kitchen suppliers showroom, to see products first hand, they decided upon Pistachio Green doors, with "Unsui" beige, from the Silestone worktops Zen Series of colours.

One thing our client didn't particularly want to see was the boiler on the wall. We managed to fully encase, whilst also allowing full ventilation and serviceable access.

Finishing touches and appliances are all stainless steel, to complete the stylish and colourful look of this modern kitchen. As with all our kitchen installations in recent years, doors and drawers come with the latest soft-close hinges and drawer runners.

We also fitted all the lighting fixtures throughout this new apartment.

Our client requested a design to incorporate simple clean lines with white gloss fascias, with a bold contrasting work surface, preferably using granite or marble. The room itself was fairly small, so effective use of space was a premium factor.

In this particular case we suggested using a white gloss vinyl door. This selection offered a more robust and practical finish to painted or sprayed white gloss, which is prone to easy damage and difficult to look after.

Our client specified that even though the room was small, they would like to incorporate a seated area or breakfast bar. We managed to do this whilst also providing ample usable workspace and storage near to the cooking area.

The choice of work surface was linked in no small part to the blue mosaic tiles featured in the tiled border. Although it's always difficult to exactly match one coloured product with another, we managed to source a virtually identical match using "Azul Enjoy" from the Silestone Life Series of colours. This is a composite coloured stone surface available in a wide variety of colours. Silestone also features built-in Microban anti-bacterial properties.

Included within the design of the furniture were the latest Blum soft-close door and drawer fittings.

Our clients were delighted with the end results. The estate agent for the development has even asked to show his clients the work we've done, to show what's possible and recommend us to his clients.

Amongst other duties the client has tasked us to perform, we also installed lighting throughout the property and took them shopping for furniture for other rooms in the house.

Our Most Recent Bathroom Installation

Frailes, near Alcala la Real, Jaen

Before

As you can see, very cramped and (like our client), if you're not particularly a fan of different shades of brown, not very appealing!

After

Following a kitchen installation we had undertaken for the same client, they asked us to return and do something with "that horrible brown bathroom".

Our client had a store room they didn't use which was on the same wall as the bath, as shown in the "Before" image. They didn't use all of the store room and expressed a preference for a large seated shower, rather than a bath. As the existing room wouldn't provide the space they needed, we extended the room into the store room to incorporate a spacious shower.

We also re-tiled the room completely (floor & walls), fitted new ROCA sanitaryware, performed all the required plumbing and electrical work, which included an extractor. The sink area was built from scratch and incorporated our clients desire for a traditional Andaluz ceramic sink.

The room is clearly a lot brighter than it was before and also now feels much more spacious.
